This heading covers :
(1) Aquatic invertebrates other than crustaceans and molluscs, live, fresh, chilled, frozen, dried, salted or in brine. (2) Smoked aquatic invertebrates other than crustaceans and molluscs, whether or not cooked before or during the smoking process. The principal varieties of aquatic invertebrates are sea‑urchins, sea cucumbers (beches‑de‑mer) and jellyfish. This heading also covers parts of aquatic invertebrates (e.g., gonads of sea‑urchins), provided they have been subjected to no other processes than those specified in (1) or (2) above. The heading also includes flours, meals and pellets of aquatic invertebrates, fit or suitable for human consumption. The heading does not cover aquatic invertebrates prepared or preserved by processes not provided for in this heading (e.g., aquatic invertebrates boiled in water or preserved in vinegar) (heading 16.05).
